The people have taken advantage of the system; the system has taken advantage of the people, all at the taxpayer’s expense. Social benefits were never meant to keep people stagnant while promoting the expansion of the government. People have grown to depend on certain benefits. The cost to our nation is not just financially astronomical; it is socially severe. We now have a generation of people who have failed to develop as productive members of society. The government has become a giant behemoth of bureaucracy that has grown beyond our capabilities to maintain a balance.

There was a surge of unwed mothers who received government assistance throughout the 70s and 80s. The mothers were raised by unwed mothers, which translates to generational welfare. The working middle-class’s hard-earned money happens to subsidize this lifestyle of fornication. For too long, taxpayers have been abused by an ungodly system and by ungodly individuals who have no problem using it: A low-hanging fruit for socialism and big government to take over our country and infiltrate our homes while killing the work ethic of the next generation. This must cease. 

To start turning the tides, KCP proposes one full year of benefits and paid vocational training to anyone seeking help from the government. Regardless of whether the individual has a child or not, these resources will be available to them if they are eligible. A year is more than enough time to learn a trade, focus on education, and secure a job. This program will not allow extensions. Substance abuse, physical abuse, and any other crime committed during that time will disqualify anyone from benefitting from the program.
