GREAT AMERICAN LANDSCAPE
Farming
& Agriculture
We believe in the hard work of the American farmer. We also believe in the people’s right to grow their own food. An apple should not cost more than a cheeseburger. It is high time for Americans to learn the self-sustaining skill of cultivating their food and be able to do so on their property. We have a God-given right to enjoy the work of our labor without government interference.
“I love to think of nature as an unlimited broadcasting station, through which God speaks to us every hour, if we will only tune in.”
“I believe that the great Creator has put ores and oil on this Earth to give us a breathing spell … as we exhaust them, we must be prepared to fall back on our farms, which are God’s true storehouse. We can learn to synthesize materials for every human need from things that grow.”
LIFESAVING REGULATIONS
KCP advocates for better regulations of big corporations in the farming business. Giant food companies monopolize the farming industry, so small farms cannot compete in the marketplace. The quality of food is depleted and riddled with chemicals. Large food corporations can dictate their needs and wants over and above the needs of the people. The government regulation burden is less for the corporate farm than for the ‘mom and pop’ farms. Corporate farms lobby more efficiently because they have greater access to deep-pocket financial reserves. Consistent and impartial farming regulation is a must!
God created all food. In His infinite wisdom, He made them naturally with NO ADDED CHEMICALS! Why are we forced to ingest chemically induced or enhanced foods into our bodies? For too long, we have allowed science to dominate the natural growth of food at the cost of American health. The use of chemicals in our food led to creating a new ‘Organic’ food industry. In reality, it was already there. Organic food is how God initially designed food to be: natural. We must eliminate the copious amount of chemicals tainting our food. GMOs, pesticides, antibiotics, and all other forms of chemicals must be banned across the board. Why do we pay more to eat healthy, chemical-free food? We shouldn’t. It’s unethical. People unable to buy Organic food are forced to eat products laced with harmful chemicals. The notion that America is a capitalist nation, and our farmers are only capitalizing on an opportunity to make money, must not be the force driving the food industry. Integrity is a long-lost concept that must be the reason for providing an untainted, healthy food supply. The issue is not capitalism. The problem is a lack of integrity. If artificial chemicals used to augment God’s given natural talent are banned in all sports worldwide, why are they allowed in our food supply?
MAKE AGRICULTURE MAINSTREAM
Agriculture is vital to our climate and well-being and must be promoted in our society. Let’s teach the importance of agriculture to our children. It is a form of individual resource and can also be used as a form of trade. Show them the benefits to our bodies and immune system. While there is nothing inherently wrong with buying produce from a store, there is great satisfaction and reward in growing your own produce. In the same way, the “Got Milk Campaign” promoted drinking milk; we can do the same by showing clean, natural, chemical-free agriculture that is a greater benefit to our body, mind, and soul.
Agriculture consists of plants, animals, and products, like cotton, wool, and leather. Cotton and wool are basic needs in our society, but we receive most of our clothing from other countries. Most of the clothes we wear are manufactured overseas. At one time, ‘Made in the USA’ was emblazoned on all of our clothing. America can provide the produce and its byproducts needed to sustain Americans. The lack of the basic knowledge required to produce agricultural products in the USA, especially among our youth, is one main reason we outsource some of our food supply and manufacturing garments. KCP strongly support campaigning vigorously to bring back the teaching of agriculture in our schools. We will campaign to get the understanding of agriculture back into today’s culture. It is seen as archaic, but there are so many benefits to learning how to work with our hands. It is an excellent opportunity to empower the youth as they learn to be entrepreneurial.
“When you have eaten your fill, be sure to praise the Lord your God for the good land he has given you.”
Deuteronomy 8:10 (NLT)
“The farmer knows just what to do, for God has given him understanding … The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is a wonderful teacher, And he gives the farmer great wisdom.”
Isaiah 28:27, 29 (NLT)
